In this powerful presentation in front of the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington-DC, Oromo youth in the Washington-DC area protested against the killings of Oromo peaceful protesters by the Ethiopian government by reading out the names of some of the deceased. Though human rights organizations and media reports say the Ethiopian Federal government’s armed forces killed at least 75 peaceful Oromo protesters, the Ethiopian Federal government has so far admitted only 5. Oromo students in particular, and the Oromo public in general, have been protesting for more than a month against, what protesters have put as, land-grabbing using the Addis Ababa Master Plan as a cover; decades-old marginalization; evictions; and politically-motivated killings and imprisonments of Oromos in Oromia.
