Last week, members of the Oromo and other Ethiopian Diaspora communities across the globe continued to stage rallies in major cities to bring to the attention of the international community the unfolding human rights violations against the Oromo people in Oromia. Oromo students in particular, and the Oromo public in general, have been protesting for almost a month now against the Ethiopian Federal government’s Master Plan to grab land in Oromia and evict ethnic Oromo farmers in the name of “development.” According to the latest reports, the death toll of Oromos killed by the Ethiopian Federal paramilitary-police force has risen to more than 70 over the last month.
