Raya-Azebo & Raya-Kobo Starves to Death; TDA [Tigray Development Association] & EFFORT, and the Woldiyan Al-Amoudi Are No Where to Be Found

The Tigrean-Habesha-controlled REST, the Relief Society of Tigray, amassed millions of dollars as a result of the 1984/5 famine in the Cushitic-Oromo Raya-Azebo-Kobo (namely, in Korem – Korem is a Cushitic-Oromo Raya territory now designated to be in Tigray). Once the Tigrean-Habesha-TPLF assumed power in 1991 in Ethiopia (mostly on the backbone of the Cushitic-Oromo Raya and Cushitic-Saho Irob peasant army), REST converted itself to the Tigrean-Habesha EFFORT (a conglomerate of businesses controlling many industrial sectors in Ethiopia) and TDA (the Tigray Development Association). Today, both EFFORT and TDA control multi-billion dollars of assets in Ethiopia – unmatched by anyone, except Al-Amoudi himself – who is said to hail from Woldiya (also spelt Weldiya) in Raya-Kobo — according to his biography, he grew up in Woldiya through his mother’s side. Arguably, Al-Amoudi is the richest person in Africa (controlling the MIDROC multi-billion company – that continues to siphon off resources from Oromia and the rest of the South without adding value to the communities from whom the resources are extracted).

With such staggering billions of dollars of both EFFORT and Al-Amoudi, one would think Raya-Azebo and Raya-Kobo would never starve to death again – however, since both EFFORT and Al-Amoudi are organized to carry out Habesha development at the expense of Cushitic-Raya (Azebo and Kobo), today both Raya-Azebo and Raya-Kobo are starving to death again. Why are the Raya-Azebo and Raya-Kobo Wollo people starving to death again? Where are EFFORT, TDA and Al-Amoudi?

Is Raya in Tigray drier than Adwa? How come Adwa is feeding itself while the naturally-endowed green Raya of the Lake Hashenge is starving to death again?)

According to the Nobel-prize winner Amartya Sen, drought is a natural disaster (i.e. lack of rain is a natural disaster); however, famine (i.e. lack of food) is a deliberate policy of the government. If the government cares for its people, no one will die from starvation (Ob. Jawar Mohammed has recently penned down about this; read more here). Are the Raya people ready to ask themselves why they continue to be starved to death decades after decades? In 1974 and in 1984 – now in 2015?
