Oromia colorfully, and peacefully, celebrated Irreecha (Oromo Thanksgiving holiday) in Bishoftu on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Though the ceremony held in Bishoftu is the largest one, Irreecha is celebrated throughout Oromia by a lakeside or a riverside to give thanks to Waaqa (The Almighty/The Creator) for ending the rainy and gloomy Winter season, and for ushering in the bountiful and bright Spring season. Here are some #Irreecha2017 pictures, curated from Social Media.
